Sophie Turner's transformation from Jean Grey to The Phoenix will be the main plot in the upcoming action-packed X-Men: Dark Phenix, and she is receiving a helping hand from Jessica Chastain.

Even though this will be the last X-Men movie from the old Fox universe, I'm sure talks are currently underway and likely have been for sometime now on how to bring the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She begins to struggle with her powers, and she confesses when she loses control, "bad things happen, but it feels good". During a rescue mission in outer space, Jean is almost killed when she's hit by a mysterious cosmic force. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we've come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet - one of their own. Once the team returns back home, a smitten Cyclops jokes that all the kids have taken to calling her "Phoenix".

Eventually, it appears as if the X-Men team will be forced into battle with a renegade Jean, who seems more than capable of handling them easily. The X-Men must now band together to save her soul and battle aliens that want to use Grey's new abilities to rule the galaxy. See Dark Phoenix in theaters June 7th and bid the Fox franchise a fond farewell.

What did you think of this trailer?

Elsewhere in the trailer, we get somewhat of a hint that Jean could kill more members of her X-Men family (a previously released trailer already revealed that Jean unwittingly murdered Mystique), as well as a closer glimpse at Genosha, Magneto's (Michael Fassbender) mutant paradise he built atop scrap metal.
