Two fighting for life after Melbourne nightclub shooting

A 50-year-old man and a 29-year-old man both sustained non-life threatening injuries. On arrival, a 37-year-old Narre Warren South man died of his injuries.

The police are yet to arrest anyone in connection with this case.

Police believe several people were shot during the incident and say a 28-year-old man and another who is yet to be identified are in critical conditions.

While the motive for the attack is not yet known, detectives are believed to be investigating links to an outlaw motorcycle gang which, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, has made extortion attempts on the nightclub.

A nightclub security guard has died and another is fighting for life after a drive-by shooting outside a Melbourne nightclub.

Three officers had searched the drains outside the entrance to the club, pulling up the grate to photograph the area below.

Edie, who lives in the nearby commission flats, said she didn't hear anything overnight.

The latest incident came after a spate of shootings in Melbourne in March that left five people dead in four separate incidents.
