Google announced the change of course during its annual developer conference oriented towards Google Cloud activities, called Cloud Next 2019.

Apart from the integration of Google Assistant, other updates include new G Suite add-ons, Drive metadata, third-party connectivity in Cloud Search, and updates to Hangouts Meet.

Currents is launching in beta, and Google says G Suite companies can request access to the program starting now. That makes sense considering it's an enterprise feature for businesses taking advantage of G Suite.

The livestreaming function looks to be especially useful for organizations that want to broadcast events they're hosting, since it can support up to 100,000 viewers at a time. Users had many complaints about it, and Google itself even acknowledged the problems with it. Connected Sheets is also being released in beta. As of publishing this update, Google+ is permanently shut down.
