On the other hand Tuggeranong resident Jamie Hengst said she uses the service regularly and that "the little bit of noise you get for five minutes is totally worth it" because the drones can deliver food that's not usually available in the area in just 10 minutes. At launch there are 12 partners including Kickstart Expresso, Capital Chemist, Pure Gelato, Jasper + Myrtle, Bakers Delight, Guzman Y Gomez, and Drummond Golf.

And now Wing has announced its drone deliveries have moved from the testing phase in the Aussie outback, and into metropolitan areas, with around 100 homes in the suburbs of Crace, Palmerston, and Franklin initially having access to the service.

Wing has been trialling deliveries of food, coffee and medicine to outer Canberra suburbs for a year while awaiting approval for its fleet of drones to be given the go-ahead by Australia's aviation authority.

FAA acting administrator Dan Elwell said Wing had already conducted successful trials of its delivery service in Virginia. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority had been in the process of assessing the safety of the drones which has now been granted.

Wing said the feedback it's received during the trials has been valuable, helping it to refine its operations to better meet the needs and expectations of the communities in which it operates.

Furthermore, it is suggested that Wing will continue to work with local policymakers, regulators and more to further enhance the service.
