No Man's Sky Beyond is planned for Summer 2019.

Sean Murray and his team note that the Beyond update is "the most ambitious chapter so far" with Online counting for just one of the three major components that will comprise the No Man's Sky Beyond update. Not entirely flawless, NEXT doubled down on what made No Man's Sky great and managed to clean up several other niggling issues within the game at the same time. Essentially, these changes make it sound like No Man's Sky will become more like an MMO, though Hello Games insists that isn't the case (at least not in a monetization sense). The first of those updates is No Man's Sky Online, which will offer new ways of exploring the universe by allowing all players everywhere in the game to come together. What else do you think should be added to No Man's Sky? There won't be a subscription or microtransactions, and the feature will be free for all existing players.

Hello Games has released a number of large updates since the game's rocky launch in 2016. Let us know on Facebook and Twitter. Murray promised that "these changes are an answer to how we have seen people playing since the release of Next".
