The only requirements are a good upload speed on your computer and a good network connection on your Steam Link device.

According to the announcement, Steam Link Anywhere is now in early beta and accessible to anyone with beta firmware, or using the Android Steam Link beta app or Raspberry Pi Steam Link app.

Less glamorous than cross-network gameplay, the boring-sounding news about the addition of new APIs to the Steamworks SDK is actually quite notable: The extensions give developers access to Steam's network backbone and packet management skills - honed via its DOTA 2 and Counterstrike: Global Offensive experience - for multiplayer games. Obviously, you'll also need either the physical Steam Link that was discontinued previous year or the Steam Link app.

Steam Link is available to download on the Google Play Store, except for the iOS App Store. Go to the Steam Link computer settings and select "Other Computer". You can also connect a controller to your phone if you need more precise inputs for more demanding games - like a racer or Dark Souls or something.

As it is, Steam Link users can stream their PC games over the same network their host machine is connected to, but as the name suggests, Steam Link Anywhere allows them to stream their games to devices on different networks.

For what it's worth, I was able to get this going without issue on my OnePlus 6T with my Steam library hosted on my Windows 10 PC.

Steam Link was originally released as a hardware device in 2015, but Valve later discontinued it in favor of an app for mobile devices and smart TVs.
