For its part, in the 78th place of the world ranking, Montevideo ranked as the Latin American city with the best quality of life. At the same time, the capital of our country has remained in last place among European cities in the Quality of Living Rankings for years. Conversely, Bangui (230) scored the lowest for the continent and also ranked lowest for personal safety (230). Coming in closely after Vienna is Zürich, Switzerland, followed by Vancouver, Canada; Munich, Germany and Auckland, New Zealand, which all share 3rd place.

Dublin placed one rank higher than past year.

At the bottom end of the scale, African and Middle Eastern cities facing security issues came out worst, with Baghdad propping up the table despite "significant improvements in security and sanitation services in recent years".
