Royal household split - Prince Harry and Meghan go at it alone

'The Household, which will be created with the support of The Queen and The Prince of Wales, will be established in the spring.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are to have their own household, in a split from William and Kate's royal personnel.

Jason Knauf has also been announced as senior adviser to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Harry and Meghan are to get their own court inside the Royal Family as they split from William and Kate in the Spring.

The Queen has agreed to the creation of a Household for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and given permission for it to be based at Buckingham Palace.

"The Duke of Sussex now has his own private office, which has been supporting the Duchess since the engagement of Their Royal Highnesses in November 2017", Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly started her maternity leave.

Some might interpret this news as evidence of the oft-rumoured "rift" between the young royals, but as the palace statement explains, it's simply business.

"According to a palace source, Kate Middleton's unusual public gesture was deliberate - she hoped the warm embrace would be captured by the world's media and finally put an end to the rumors of an ongoing feud", an anonymous palace source told the publication.

Kensington Palace said his new role will include "advising Their Royal Highnesses on their charitable initiatives - including work on the environment, mental health, and early childhood".

They have a very clear idea of what they want to do and the instructions from the top and, of course, that comes from Prince William at Kensington Palace, they don't want others treading".
