Conor McGregor is facing a civil lawsuit after being charged in South Florida with stealing the cellphone of someone who was trying to take his photo, as reported by AP.

As seen in the footage, the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion is seen and heard using his left foot to stomp on a smart phone he allegedly took from a man. Now, a video of the incident has surfaced. I love my fans dearly.

A fan had accused McGregor of slapping his phone from his hand, stomping on it, and pocketing the phone before being driven off in a chauffeured vehicle.

Prior to his release, McGregor's team issued a statement on his behalf, saying: "Last evening Conor McGregor was involved in a minor altercation over a cell phone that resulted in a call to law enforcement".

Otherwise, it should be noted that McGregor had just finished his community service work after an arrest previous year in NY, where the former UFC champion ultimately pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and avoided jail time.

McGregor was arrested and charged with strong-armed robbery and misdemeanour criminal damage, and spent the night in jail before being released on bail. He was arrested after throwing a dolly through a bus window in Brooklyn, NY. He just ended his six-month suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.

McGregor is expected back in court on April 10.
