Chadwick Boseman Teams Up with Spike Lee for Netflix’s Da 5 Bloods

The star of Black Panther and the Oscar-nominated director of BlacKkKlansman are teaming up, as Chadwick Boseman is nearing a deal to play a key supporting role in Spike Lee's next film Da 5 Bloods.

Lee and his BlacKkKlansman collaborator Kevin Willmott worked on the script together many, many years ago, based on an original screenplay by Danny Bilson and Paul DeMeo.

'To quote my brother Jay-Z from Da People's Republic of Brooklyn "On to Da Next One,"' Lee said in a statement. Lee will also produce with Beatriz Levin & Lloyd Levin, and Jon Kilik. "Da 5 Bloods" would mark Lee's first directing gig for Netflix as the streaming giant continues to draw high-profile talent. He's already expected to begin production on his next film as early as next month and he'll be reteaming with Netflix following his She's Gotta Have It TV show.
