Renault F1 showcases 2019 team and livery

Ricciardo won twice for Red Bull a year ago, but Renault are yet to secure a podium finish since they returned to the grid as a standalone constructor in 2016.

The manufacturer's ambition was nonetheless underlined last summer when it acquired the services of Daniel Ricciardo on a two-year deal, with the seven-time Grand Prix victor joining Nico Hulkenberg.

Retired four times world champion and team special advisor Alain Prost, addressing staff before the launch, said he was impressed by the changes and hoped to see Ricciardo or German teammate Nico Hulkenberg on the podium this year. I aim to be able to get the team to work that extra bit harder, put in more effort and rally everyone together.

The French manufacturer has made no secret of the fact it is facing a long-term project back to the front of the grid - it has targeted wins in 2020 and 2021, meaning a clear step forward this year will be vitally important.

A similar livery to 2018 was unveiled at the team's updated headquarters at Enstone.

"When you walk around Enstone you feel the passion and dedication to racing", he said.

Renault Sport Racing Managing director Cyril Abiteboul said ahead of the unveiling of its 2019 auto on Tuesday that the team was on the rise and needed to put the hard years of rebuilding behind it.
