On Thursday of this week, Grande Tweeted out a screenshot of an Associated Press interview with Ehrlich, in which he claimed that Ari felt it was "too late" to put together a performance for the show, and this is why she would not be appearing. The 25-year-old caught wind of the comments Grammys executive producer, Ken Ehrlich made and called him a liar via Twitter. With public favor on her side, Ken Erlich reached out to Rolling Stone magazine for a chance at a rebuttal.

Buzz Aldrin, Armstrong's colleague from the mission, also shared NASA's tweet and wondered when he would be featured in one of her songs. "I don't say to people, 'This is what you should do.' I approach it casually and say, hey, this might be a good idea, let's find something in the middle", he said.

There was nearly a version of "Thank U, Next" released where Grande didn't mention any of her past boyfriends in the lyrics.
