How to merge Fortnite accounts with Epic Games

This would be something for those who have made new accounts either for or because their accounts were locked to their PS4. One of them will be your Primary account that you'll use going forward.

It's finally time, console-gaming Fortnite fans.

And it has taken many months to get the Fortnite account merger system off the ground.

First of all, the timing for when the accounts were made is important and can affect eligibility.

One account must have played on Xbox One or Switch and the other must have been played on PlayStation 4. There's also a caveat: Merging is only available if at least one of the accounts was in use before September 28, 2018, and, naturally, neither account can be banned or disabled. Head to the Epic Games site to read the complete breakdown of what will happen, what will be kept, and what will be lost.

Players will then need to choose a primary account to use as the new main account which will replace the other. Prior to Sony starting its beta for cross-platform multiplayer last spring, you had to create a separate Epic account to play Fortnite on the PS4 - even if you already created an account on another platform.

Once you set up the transfer, the game will hold your in-game items and V-bucks for two weeks before they're merged into your account.

Epic Games now has a page that lets you merge your Fortnite accounts.

Now, Fortnite's publisher Epic Games has introduced an account merge tool that unifies all of your game progress across all platforms - giving you a single login for every version of Fortnite across PC, PS4, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch and mobile. Then log into your account from another platform to merge it with your primary account.

Epic Games has also confirmed the items that will not be merged, as well as those that can be. If you've purchased V-Bucks or items on a platform you don't play with regularly, you can now bring everything into your primary account.

The campaign will allow you to merge "Llamas, ' 'Defenders, ' 'Heroes, ' 'Schematics, ' 'Survivors, ' experience, 'Evolution, ' and 'Perk Materials" only. Just to be clear, the wording specifies that the second account is disabled.
