CDC: 2 More Child Deaths Linked to Flu

The latest weekly flu map from the CDC indicates that Tennessee is experiencing regional activity, but most of the country's flu cases are widespread. That's the highest percentage compared to the rest of the state.

1,810 cases have been reported so far this season... Flu season officially began last October 1st and it typically runs through March 31st.

Earlier this month, Queensland health authorities issued an alert because of a surge in summer flu cases - a warning they said was for all Australians because flu cases were being spread as many people travelled on holidays.

Two more children have died in connection with the flu as activity picked up in the USA last week, according to an update from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Public health officials are reporting three more flu-related deaths in DE, bringing the total for the current flu season to eight.

But there was little point in people who missed last year's flu vaccine rushing out to have it now. Nationwide, 185 child deaths have been attributed to the flu - and about 80 percent of those kids had not received their flu shots.
