Virat Kohli: We don't support 'inappropriate' team-mate comments

The Indian cricket team has been preparing for the upcoming ODI series against Australia and Indian skipper Virat Kohli cleared his intentions.

A BCCI source told PTI that Rahul was not considered for selection while Pandya will not feature at least in the game on Saturday. It does nothing to the spirit that we've been able to create within the changeroom and these are purely individual opinions and something as I said which is inappropriate.

"From the Indian cricket team point of view, any inappropriate comments that are made in that scenario are something that we definitely don't support".

"It has to hit anyone hard; they will definitely understand the things that have not gone right".

Kohli described the news as "unfortunate" and made it clear he - or anyone in the Indian cricket team for that matter - did not agree with the comments shared by the players on the light-hearted television segment that was filmed previous year.

India has a long white-ball season lined up ahead of the marquee tournament in England this summer, with three ODIs in Australia and another five ODIs in New Zealand along with a three-match T20I series there as well.

Top Executive with Hacienda HealthCare Resigns
The caregiver was also incensed at the facility's staff, who she says should have noticed her gaining weight or missing periods. A woman in a vegetative state gave birth on December 29, 2018, in a Hacienda facility, prompting a sexual assault investigation.

"A couple of spots which might need rectification will be looked at but apart from that the idea is to make that combination and that team play together for the whole period left before the World Cup", Kohli said.

The controversy had exploded when on the show, Pandya had boasted about hooking up with multiple women.

Rahul and Pandya appeared on a talk show on Sunday where some of the things they said were met with widespread criticism and social media backlash over perceived misogyny, racism and sexism, following which the BCCI issued showcause notices to both. The all-rounder, in response, said he was sincerely regretful and would not repeat the behaviour. A final decision on the matter is still awaited.

On Thursday, Vinod Rai, Chairman of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) had recommended a two-ODI ban on the duo but fellow member Diana Edulji had pushed for a legal opinion before deciding on the quantum of punishment.

According to Cricket.com.au, Jhye Richardson, Jason Behrendorff and Nathan Lyon will join the 34-year-old Siddle as the four specialist bowlers in the XI.

"You have to adjust with the situation", Kohli said.
