Winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories have been issued for IL and through Missouri.

"The heaviest snow will fall along our southern counties where anywhere from 3" to 6" of snow is possible. Some of the snow will become mixed with rain on Saturday, mainly in east central IL and areas along and south of I-70. If you have travel planned, you may want to adjust your travel time to avoid the storm. The steadiest snow is most likely late Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning.

"Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving", the NWS said, noting there is a "high uncertainty" of the actual amount of snow on the way.

There's a chance for lingering snow overnight Saturday into early Sunday morning as the storm system moves out of the area, across central Missouri. The cold conditions continue Friday with highs in the 30s once again under cloudy skies. Weather during the game will be in the 30s and wind chills in the 20s with light snow or flurries at least for the beginning of the game although it won't be heavy.

Highs do warm back in the 40s next week however based on the amount of snow that accumulates temperatures may have to be adjusted (either way).

Temperatures are expected to remain cold through the weekend.
