'Criminal Minds' renewed for 15th and final season

Now, before you freak out, you should know that the team will have a chance to say goodbye, as Criminal Minds will end with Season 15 next season, TV Guide has learned.

The Criminal Minds team will film the final 10 episodes this spring to film straight through after Season 14 is completed.

CBS has announced that beloved crime show Criminal Minds is finally coming to an end after 15 seasons.

Along with the possible appearances of some of the show's departed stars, Messer teased some of the most memorable bad guys from the series could make an appearance.

Criminal Minds is now more than halfway through Season 14, which is supposed to end on a much happier note than Season 15's ominous beginning: Rossi (Joe Mantegna) is heading down the aisle.

But they also could clear more than $15 million in savings for his salary this season, even if it hurts in the short term. The only problem is, trading him would be costly - not just in terms of the production the Steelers would be losing.

In total, the show will have aired 325 episodes by the end of its run. I couldn't get enough when Mandy Patinkin and Thomas Gibson were both in the show.

CBS" EVP of current programs, Amy Reisenbach said that "It is the quintessential CBS hit.

"That journey has changed a lot from the early days on the show because I wouldn't have anticipated all the changes that've happened".

Obviously, the series' audience is very invested in the characters' lives and romances as well since they had so many years with them. The show has become known for featuring a quote at the beginning of each episode, recited by one of the aforementioned characters, which has some bearing on the theme or events the episode depicts.

Perhaps someday I'll find time to watch all the seasons I've missed. That's a run they can all be proud of.
