William Barr is leading candidate for Attorney General

Martha MacCallum reported that former Bush-41 Attorney General William Barr is being heavily considered by President Trump.

His views on the Russian Federation investigation: Barr has remained neutral on whether or not the Mueller probe is legitimate, but he has both written and spoken about many topics relating to players in the investigation. He is now an attorney for Washington, DC law firm Kirkland and Ellis.

Trump made the announcement while departing the White House for a trip to Missouri Friday. Rosenstein appointed Mueller following Sessions's recusal, a decision that angered the president.

Barr served as Mueller's boss when he was attorney general in the early 1990s and Mueller led the criminal division at the Justice Department. An attorney general opposed to the investigation could theoretically move to cut funding or block certain investigative steps. The month prior, Trump said in a Fox & Friends interview: "I can tell you Matt Whitaker's a great guy".

"There is nothing inherently wrong about a president calling for an investigation", said Barr. He was promoted to deputy attorney general next, and then to the top role.

Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, a Texas Republican who sits on the Judiciary Committee, called Barr an "interesting pick".

Barr, he said, could fit that bill.

Beating Pakistan in their backyard is very tough. "It was a really great fighting effort, and one we'll remember for a long time". The other wicket of day four went to Shaheen Afridi, who now has two wickets from 16 overs, giving 55 runs in the process.

GOP-led Michigan Senate OKs bill to strip Democrat's power

Burger King offering 1-cent Whoppers 'at' McDonald's
After placing orders via the app, customers are "detoured" to the nearest Burger King to fetch the spoils of this fast-food war. As Burger King bragged in a press release, they're "turning more than 14,000 McDonald's into Burger King restaurants".

Barr not only said that an investigation of this would be above-board, he claimed it was necessary in the interest of justice.

"To the extent it is not pursuing these matters, the department is abdicating its responsibility", Barr told the New York Times.

Those comments elicited a sharp response from Rove, who demanded that Williams "go back and read" what Barr has said about Mueller and the probe.

"Unfortunately, beginning in July, when he announced the outcome of the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while secretary of state, he crossed a line that is fundamental to the allocation of authority in the Justice Department", Barr wrote in the 2017 article.

Senate Democrats have sued the administration over the appointment, arguing it wasn't constitutional.

"In my view, prosecutors who make political contributions are identifying fairly strongly with a political party". I was happy that GTE's conduct of the litigation was considerably more aggressive than that of other similarly situated carriers who were also required to share their facilities and equipment with new competitors under the Act. "(Barr) may be the kind of person who would be easier to confirm".
