Trump Opens Fire On Mueller, Comey As New Revelations Expected Today

President Donald Trump fired Comey in May 2017, a move that led the Justice Department to appoint Robert Mueller special counsel to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election, including potential collusion between Trump's campaign associates and Russian officials.

It a series of tweets early Friday, the president blasted Comey and the Mueller probe into Russia's hacking of the 2016 USA national election.

House Republicans are set to interview former FBI Director James Comey behind closed doors Friday, the last time before they cede power to Democrats in January. They said his financial crimes were unsophisticated, noting no overseas accounts were used. "It's called Presidential Harassment!" he said. But he says it won't be complete until Mueller issues his report.

Yesterday Trump posted a tweet bragging about his latest approval rating a recent Rasmussen poll, which claims he has a 50% approval rating.

Manafort has said he believes he provided "truthful information".

The court filings will close out a busy week for Mueller as the president has heightened his attacks on the investigation.
