Honda Passport SUV making a comeback for 2019

Honda hasn't released any details about the Passport yet, but says it will be "adventure-ready", "off-road capable", and that it was both designed and will be built in the US, right alongside the Pilot in Alabama.

Honda confirmed Thursday that the 2019 Passport will make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this November, marking the return of a nameplate which has been dormant for more than 15 years. The online event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Honda isn't exactly known for vehicles that are meant for off-road use, but it is teasing the off-road capability of the new Passport with Honda saying it is "Adventure Ready". & General Manager, Honda Division.

The original Passport was Honda's first SUV - a five-seater that was sold from 1994 to 2002. It goes on sale early next year. Strong demand for the Honda Pilot has sales up more than 41 percent for the first ten months of 2018.

Honda's US light-truck sales, up 5.3 percent this year, are on track to set a record for the fourth straight year, and exceed 700,000 for the third year in a row.
