- Democratic Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of NY joined a large protest on Tuesday at the office of House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. "This is to show that we are here to back up bold action and that, you know she will be supported in that". "For putting yourselves and your bodies and everything on the line to make sure we save our planet, our generation, and our future", Ocasio-Cortez said.

Now that they're about to control the House, Democrats are planning to investigate Trump administration activities that appeared to be aimed at hurting major media concerns-namely the attempted blockage of the AT&T-Time Warner merger and the targeting of Amazon over its postal rates.

As of now, it remains unclear whether or not Ocasio-Cortez will support Pelosi's bid for House speaker.

The Democrat likely to lead the House intelligence committee next year said Congress would investigate whether Donald Trump used "the instruments of state power to punish the press" in at least two alleged instances.

Chiefs-Rams game moved from Mexico City to LA due to field
Players of Lobos BUAP warm up prior to their match against Cruz Azul at Azteca Stadium on November 10, 2018, in Mexico City. Azteca hosted the first regular-season game ever held outside the U.S.in 2005 when Arizona beat San Francisco.

Pelosi embraced the protesters and said she planned on launching a special committee to focus on the climate crisis.

Ocasio-Cortez departed before arrests were made. She compared it to the existential threat of Nazi Germany and called for the government to mobilize all its forces to achieve 100 percent renewable energy. In a statement released Tuesday, she said that she recommended the reinstatement of the committee to address climate change.

According to The Guardian, another progressive website, the protest of Pelosi was to bash the committee Democrats initially financed as "toothless", saying it "resulted in weak cap-and-trade legislation passing the House in 2009 before failing in the Democratic-controlled Senate".
