Surface Go with LTE Advanced, as the coming devices will be branded, will be available in both consumer and commercial configurations, just like Microsoft's recently introduced Surface Laptop 2 and Surface Pro 6.

The Surface Go may not be as glamorous as its bigger siblings, including the Surface Pro and Surface Book, given that it's Microsoft's smallest Surface to date. The LTE option adds a fraction to the weight (0.02lb/10 grams) and equips the machine with a nano-SIM tray, GPS, and GLONASS positioning. In that scenario, the Go becomes much less useful. The Surface Go LTE with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will cost $679 and it will be available on 11/20.

Microsoft has announced that pre-orders for LTE-enabled versions of its Surface Go tablet are now open. They include the $729 Surface Go with LTE Advanced for Business, which contains the same hardware as the consumer version, and an $829 device with an identical name.

Here in the United Kingdom, the Surface Go with LTE is also pre-orderable right away but folk will have to wait until 22 November before shipping commences. The latter's storage capacity has been upgraded from 128GB to 256GB, but the specs appear otherwise unchanged.

The follow cellular providers will be supporting the Surface Go with LTE right out of the gate: AT&T, Verizon, DoCoMo, SoftBank, KDDI, EE UK, Vodafone UK and Sprint. In the U.S. your pre-order will be fulfilled from 20 November, when these LTE enabled devices start to ship.
