Despite being the fourth-largest global smartphone brand, Xiaomi has yet to really crack the western market, with its popularity in Asia accounting for most of its market share. The Beijing-based manufacturer has partnered with mobile network Three, which will sell Xiaomi-branded handsets online and in its brick-and-mortar stores nationwide.

The Mi 8 Pro sports a 6.21-inch AMOLED display, transparent glass back cover, an AI-powerful dual camera set-up and infra-red facial recognition technology, and bears a close resemblance to Apple's iPhone X thanks to the "notch" at the top of its display. According to Xiaomi, this'll get you up to 19 days of battery life in standby mode. It also has a 13MP rear camera that includes phase detection autofocus and a 5MP front-facing selfie camera. Pre-orders open tomorrow, ready for a 21st November delivery. It can also be picked up SIM-free for just £99. The carrier is offering a range of 24-month contracts, starting from £12 a month, with a one-off £19 upfront cost.

Now Xiaomi is ready to launch the Mi 8 Pro and Mi 8 Lite in the United Kingdom, which will mark its next major global expansion.

The Mi 8 Pro ships in a Transparent Titanium finish for £499.
