Notre Dame moves up to No

With No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Notre Dame undefeated, the 13 members of the College Football Playoff selection committee had it fairly easy at the top this week, as No. 4 MI quietly joined the top four Tuesday as many had expected. Notre Dame also has one tough game left vs. ranked Syracuse, on November 17. The Orange maintained its spot as the second-highest ranked team in the ACC, behind No. 2 Clemson.

Oklahoma should be able to take care of business at home the next two weekends against in-state rival Oklahoma State and last-place Kansas, which leaves the showdown at West Virginia (7-1, 5-1) the day after Thanksgiving as the defining game of the Sooners' season.

The top five: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Michigan and Georgia.

The Longhorns' College Football Playoff hopes are long gone, but they still have a path to reach the Big 12 Championship game. The Knights would face No. 7 LSU, based on fan interest and matchup.

West Virginia, which leapfrogged the Cougars in the AP poll, came in at No. 9 in the CFP rankings.
