Chelsea fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration after the Blues endured a hard first-half against BATE Borisov in Belarus. Expect him to be substituted early on after the end of the first half.

"We moved it too slowly".

The Daily Mirror is claiming that the east London club are keen on a move to try and bring the England global to the London Stadium for the second half of the current campaign.

"It's very important because then we can talk again about this competition in February".

The best thing about this evening was the result. "He's a very important player for us, he's very useful for the team but I know very well that strikers want to score, and so for his confidence it's very important". I think we didn't play very well, I didn't like the first half because we moved the ball only horizontally and slowly, so it was hard to be risky.

Sarri made a decision to go with a three man midfield of Jorginho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley on the night, meaning summer signing Matteo Kovacic had to make do with a place on the bench.

Kovacic has caught the eye since joining on a season-long deal from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

And it's fair to say he's a fan.

Affectionately called Sarri-ball, this free-flowing, easy-on-the-eye football has seen many purring, not least of which is a former Blues stalwart in Ballack and the ex-Germany favourite, who starred at west London for four years in the late 2000s, reckons that Sarri has finally tapped into the attacking capabilities of the Blues. "He's not a prolific goalscorer from midfield but when you watch him closely, what he does is drive with the ball".

"Straight away that's unnerving the (opposition) back four because he's got that ability to just ghost past players".

With that in mind, it could be argued that it would have been good to have played Hazard anyway, but he will feature for other reasons rather than that, as the Italian confirmed when he faced the press.

"I think he's vital for the way Chelsea want to play".
