In a note to investors, research firm Cowen & Company said "Blizzard severely miscalculated how their fans would respond, which suggests they aren't in touch with their players as maybe they should be".

However, the plans to tease Diablo 4 were reportedly pulled last minute. All of these narratives came to a head earlier today when Kotaku reported that Diablo 4 is real and was initially part of the Blizzard's BlizzCon presentation.

The original plan for BlizzCon 2018, according to two people familiar with Blizzard's plans, was for Blizzard to announce the mobile game Diablo Immortal and then end on a video in which company co-founder Allen Adham told the audience that a proper Diablo 4 was in development but not ready to show just yet.

The plan to reveal Diablo 4 at Blizzcon was apparently changed within the last couple of weeks, mainly because the Diablo team was anxious about revealing the game at this early stage. We've heard from the hardcore Diablo fans that feel spurned, the ex-Blizzard producer that thinks Blizzard dug its own grave, and the developers themselves that have continually stressed that multiple Diablo projects are in the works. One of Kotaku's sources said that Blizzard decided it wasn't ready to commit to the announcement because development is still in a state of flux, and the game may continue to change as it progresses.

Apple shows record-breaking results for Q4 of the fiscal 2018
If you're wondering "Why fourth quarter?", it's because the fiscal 2018 ends three months earlier than the calendar 2018. The iPhone growth is slowing down, but that hasn't affected Apple's revenue so far.

"Some of them are going to take longer than others, but we may have some things to show you later this year", Camel said.

The opening ceremony for this year's BlizzCon concluded with an announcement for Diablo Immortal, a new mobile-only Diablo set between the second and third games.

The release of BlizzCon 2018's panel schedule added more speculation, as Diablo was given the first panel slot on the main stage, having fans think that would lead to a big announcement.

I've reached out to Blizzard for more information and will update if I receive a reply. Only instead of directing to any of the official pages for existing Diablo games, or to some sort of text message (as these tend to be), it redirects to the official site of Path of Exile.
