A few months after the 8 Series name was resurrected by BMW, the brand has now revealed the first-ever 8 Series convertible which will hit markets in the first half of 2019. In comparison, the hardtop will go on sale in December starting at $111,900 before destination. And just like the coupe, the convertible too is a handsome lad.

Both engines come mated to a standard eight-speed torque converter-equipped, ZF-produced automatic gearbox and BMW's four-wheel-drive xDrive system. Those numbers are good enough for a 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) sprint in just 3.9 seconds. It'll whisk you from 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds, which is three tenths slower than the coupe version.

European buyers will also have the choice of the 840d xDrive. This unit makes 320PS of power and 680 Nm of peak torque.

With the game only two weeks away from launch, though, such a serious bug is likely to raise eyebrows among the company's users. By default, the Fallout 76 beta's framerate is locked down, and there's no way in the settings to change that.

The M850i convertible, seen in European form here, looks slightly more upright than the coupe due to the soft top, but it retains a related low and wide overall shape. Sophisticated design for the soft-top compartment with subtle domes and surfacing that takes its cues from the instrument panel and door shoulders. BMW paid special attention to the convertible stow cover, giving it a slight double bubble appearance when the top is down. This setup enables the convertible to rocket from 0-60 miles per hour (0-96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 155 miles per hour (250 km/h). For a little less wind in the cabin with the roof down, there's a standard wind deflector to place behind the front seats.

The 6 Series Convertible is officially no more, but there's no reason to be sad as BMW is replacing it with this gorgeous droptop. For example, an optional M Carbon Exterior Package uses carbon-fiber reinforced polymer pieces for the air intake bars, exterior mirror caps, and rear diffuser insert.

A number of different options will be available including heated / ventilated front seats, glass accents and a Bowers & Wilkins diamond surround sound system. Folks looking for more tech can specify Driving Assistant Professional that includes adaptive cruise control, lane control assist, and evasion aid that reacts to pedestrians in the vehicle's way.
