They also come with some sweet, sweet improvements in performance and other parts of the device.

iFixit has the answer for you. Like its predecessors, the Surface Pro 6 uses a ton of glue on the inside to keep things together, making it really hard to take the device apart. iFixit says all repairs will require you to first remove the display assembly, which can be quite risky due to all the glue that's holding it together.

The folks who absolutely love tearing down the latest gadgets and tech ended up giving the Surface Pro 6 a rather appalling score of one out of 10 for "repairability". Just like its predecessor, the Surface Pro 6 got a 1/10 repairability score from iFixit, and the Surface Laptop 2 didn't fare any better than the "glue-filled monstrosity" that was the original Surface Laptop. As it turns out, it's nearly impossible to open the Surface Laptop without destroying something.

As ever, one of the main criticisms dragging down that score is the liberal use of glue, and the fact that any fix necessitates the removal of the display assembly first - and that is "stubbornly" glued in place, and could be prone to shattering as it's prized out. The fact that you can get this discount even if your kid is in preschool means most people can take advantage of the savings.

A lack of improvement was also the theme for the Surface Laptop 2, which retained its predecessor's abysmal fix rating of 0 out of 10.
