The problem was discovered by several companies on Tuesday, Oct. 16, when they were notified that the vegetables used in the production of their ready-to-eat products were being recalled by their vegetable supplier due to Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes concerns.

A separate but similar recall for about 916 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken wrap and salad products containing possibly tainted corn was issued by Mary's Harvest Fresh Foods, Portland, Oregon, for products sold under its own brand as well as Trader Jose, Trader Joe's house brand for Mexican food.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.

GHSE, based in Florida, issued a recall the same night as ready-to-eat salads sold in Florida, Georgia, and SC, saying a corn ingredient possibly contaminated with salmonella and listeria was in the salads; soon after Taylor Farms Northwest, based in Washington, recalled its Port Carnitas Bowl, citing concerns that its tomatillos could be contaminated with salmonella and listeria.

Trader Joe's says the salads were sold at stores in Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoman, Tennessee, and Texas.

The salad labels have the establishment number "EST".
