German sports vehicle manufacturer Porsche has launched the latest generation of their flagship SUV model, Cayenne, in India starting at a base price of Rs.1.19 crores.

- The new Cayenne is available in three variants with no diesel option.

The Cayenne is Porsche's bestselling model in India and rivals the likes of the Range Rover Sport and the BMW X5 M in our market.

The base Cayenne is priced at Rs 1.19 crore, while the e-Hybrid is priced at Rs 1.58 crore (both prices, ex-showroom).

Developed ground-up, the Cayenne moved to the new MLB Evo platform and carries an evolutionary design along with updated interiors.

Woman's Body Found in Llano County During Flooding
Light to moderate rain will continue for the next couple of days but taper off as the weekend approaches. Water levels along the Llano River at Llano have subsided but are still well above major flood stage.

The new Cayenne also gets a bold new design which stays true to the original identity of the Cayenne but delivers a more streamlined, sporty impression. The SUV now also gets a rear-wheel steering as well. The headlamps now have the four-point LED signature. The wheelbase, however, remains the same as the outgoing Cayenne's. The Porsche SUV is also the first of its kind to get an adaptive rear spoiler.

The interior of this SUV is inspired by the new Panamera's interior and it gets a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This includes a 710 watts Bose sound system, 18-way adjustable seats, leather upholstery and all other luxuries expected from the sports SUV. The petrol versions of Cayenne -the Cayenne and the Cayenne Turbo - will come with a choice of V6 and V8 engines offering 340hp and 550hp respectively. This will enable the auto to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 3.5 seconds and travel more than 310 miles (500 km) in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). The e-Hybrid version draws power from a 3.0-litre V6 mill coupled with an electric motor delivering 462bhp and 700Nm of torque.

Porshe previously said that the upcoming Taycan EV would have a price roughly in line with the base Panamera, but the German brand has now decided to make it even less expensive, according to Automotive News Europe.

The new Cayenne is based on the Major League Baseball platform, which is shared with the Audi Q7 and the Lamborghini Urus.
