Will Smith Shares Aladdin Poster with Genie’s Lamp!

The first poster from Disney's live-action Aladdin is here, and it's bound to make you nostalgic. In addition to classic songs from the first film, the live-action movie features new songs co-written by Menken and Pasek & Paul.

The new poster was revealed by Will Smith, who'll be playing the genie in this version.

Fans will have to wait until next May to truly see what Ritchie has in store for the remake. It's fitting that Smith was the one to tease the trailer, as he also shared the first photo of the cast on set in September 2017. HollywoodLife actually saw the first footage of the film back at CinemaCon in April 2018. Aladdin plans to uses these wishes to win over the handsome Princess Jasmine, but the evil Jafar has other plans.

The original Aladdin was released as an animated movie in 1992, starred Robin Williams as Genie and went on to take home two Oscars and earn $504 million at the worldwide box office.

Aladdin opens May 24, 2019 and stars Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Will Smith as the Genie, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahbanas the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad as Jasmine's handmaiden, Billy Magnussen as a potential suitor for the Princess, and Numan Acar as Jafar's right-hand man. Aladdin is hitting theaters some time in May.
