He was most famous for portraying Mini-Me, the small-statured clone of Dr. Evil (Mike Myers), in the Austin Powers movies.

In 2002, Troyer almost died from alcohol poisoning after going on a bender following his split from wife Genevieve Gallen after she made a decision to end their marriage of two months. The cause of death listed in the official report was a "sequelae of alcohol intoxication", otherwise known as lethal alcohol abuse. He was speculated to have died by suicide when news of his death first broke, but it was not confirmed until Wednesday by the coroner.

In the full coroner's report obtained exclusively obtained by Radar, the medical examiner claimed the star suffered from "suicidal ideations", "depression" and "chronic alcohol use" before taking his own life.

Troyer, who was born with a form of dwarfism that stopped him from growing past 2ft 8in, also starred in the likes of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and Men in Black.

It continued: "Verne was also a fighter when it came to his own battles". However, he was candid about battling alcohol addiction.
