UFC boss: Khabib Nurmagomedov wont be stripped of MMA title

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has withheld Nurmagomedov's $2 million disclosed purse, pending a full review of what took place after the championship fight on Saturday.

"He is going to get suspended so maybe you give him four to six months' suspension", said White.

This is not to say that tempers wouldn't have flared regardless because the hostility between the teams was already at boiling point after pre-fight comments about Nurmagomedov's country and family but the new footage does seem to suggest that it was the exchange with Magomedov that caused "The Eagle" to jump out of the cage.

While UFC president Dana White did not present Nurmagomedov the title belt, fearing to arouse the crowd's ire, he told TMZ in a video posted on the UFC website that the Russian would not be stripped of the title and any punishment for the melee after UFC 229 would likely come from the NAC, not the UFC.

White said he thought the NAC should take a $250,000 fine. At that point, two more of Nurmagomedov's cornermen began attack mcGregor, leading to an all out brawl in the octagon. But it is actually amusing, I was just thinking about this, you know that right hand, if you showed it to a boxing coach he would say "That's awful".

"He had a hood on, trying to be low key, but he came up to me, he was respectful, he was like 'hey man, you're holding it down for the jiu jitsu community, you're doing your thing, I admire you, I appreciate it.' He was cool about the whole situation". He just beat Conor in front of the entire world. "The guy that's yelling at you means nothing".

"We have to see how this stuff plays out with Khabib", White said.
