Celebrated on October 10 each year, World Mental Health Day symbolises a global effort to address mental health and promote discussion about this important topic. Yet, those struggling with mental health problems are still being marginalised, ' Guterres said. We spend time with patients, speak to them and understand the root cause.

Mrs. Brandy-Williams explained October 10 is World Mental Health Day and highlighted the need for heightened awareness of mental health issues around the globe. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries.

The average suicide rate in India is 10.9 for every lakh people and the majority of people who commit suicide are below 44 years of age. In addition, approximately half (52 percent) would use a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence to support their mental wellbeing, and slightly more (55 percent) believe that virtual reality can be helpful in managing mental health issues.

They explained that the adolescence and the early years of adulthood are a time of change- moving schools, leaving home, and starting work.
