After the altercation, Philipps says she broke down in front of fellow co-star Linda Cardellini, who advised the actress to report the incident to her manager.

An excerpt from the upcoming memoir, This Will Only Hurt a Little, has been obtained by Radar Online, and verified by Yahoo Entertainment, in which Philipps calls out her former "Freaks and Geeks" co-star for allegedly attacking her while filming a scene. "Wind knocked out of me", she wrote.

Playing, Kim Kelly, The New York Post has reported her next line was: "Dammit Daniel, do SOMETHING", to be delivered while hitting his chest.

Describing Franco as a "f***ing bully", Philipps says everyone on the set was horrified at his actions, but that he was never punished for his outburst. "And he threw me to the ground".

She says Franco eventually apologized to her the next day at the behest of the producers and the director. Like many women in Hollywood culture have said, Phillips writes that she always felt like she was forced to play the role of pacifist, no matter who was right or wrong.

The excerpt was published days after Philipps said she was raped when she was 14 years old, after Dr. Christine Blasey Ford testified about Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh allegedly sexually assaulting her in 1982.

However, this isn't the first time the actress has mentioned the incident. During her 2016 appearance on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live, she said the two "really, really disliked each other", and elaborated on his behavior. 'I never knew this conversation existed, and in an improv, I smacked him on the thing, and he was like, "Don't ever touch me", and grabbed me and shoved me to the ground.

Franco then stormed off, Philipps writes, and the crew rushed to help her to her feet. Earlier in 2018, five women came forward to accuse the actor of sexual misconduct, according to a Los Angeles police report.

Roger Howarth took over the part of Franco in 2013 when we learned the character committed his many crimes due to a brain tumor.
