New Bumblebee Trailer Shows Off All Kinds Of New Designs

When he premiered the film's first trailer in June, Knight recalled his own childhood experiences with Transformers.

Paramount Pictures has released a new global trailer for the Transformers prequel movie Bumblebee.

Other stars involved include Rachel Crow, formerly of The X Factor USA; plus Jorge Lendebog Jr, John Ortiz and Pamela Adlon. The global trailer features several shots not seen in the domestic version, including more footage of other G1 era classic Transformers like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee battling Blitzwing, and shots of Cybertron.

The second full-length Bumblebee trailer has arrived.

Unlike the franchise's previous entries, which were helmed by Michael Bay, Bumblebee is directed by Travis Knight, best known for his work on Kubo and the Two Strings. Peter Cullen is back as Optimus Prime, while the likes of Shockwave, Starscream, Shatter, and Dropkick all put in appearances.

Bumblebee will release on December 21 this year.

The film sees Bumblebee taking refuge in a small Californian beach town junkyard, where a teenage girl, Charlie (Steinfeld), takes him in. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. Was that Soundwave? I'm not even that big a fan of Transformers, but I can only imagine how these brief images are a form of catharsis to fans of classic Transformers who are undoubtedly exhausted of all the bits and pieces from Michael Bay's aesthetic. A certain yellow VW Beetle catches her eye and she asks the proprietor if its for sale.
