The New England Patriots will take on the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Rob Gronkowski has spent the past week preparing to face the Detroit Lions on Sunday night, and there was apparently a point where he was close to catching passes from Matthew Stafford instead of Tom Brady.

That was a scenario the tight end wasn't a fan of.

According to the report, Gronkowski didn't even return the Lions' phone calls, even though former defensive coordinator Matt Patricia is now the team's head coach and former Pats executive Bob Quinn is now the general manager with Detroit.

Through three games, New England has allowed 430 yards on the ground (143.3 per game) on 91 carries (4.73 yards per run).

China considers lowering tariffs as its economy faces difficulties
Administration officials told reporters this week that China had been "obdurate" in refusing to address American grievances. The trade gap means China will run out of US imports to tax while the USA still has plenty of Chinese imports to target.

Woods wins Tour Championship, ending five-year drought
Tiger Woods has won a PGA Tour event for the first time in over five years after victory at the Tour Championship . Since his five-win season in 2013, Woods was cursed with chipping woes, poor putting and snap hooks off the tee.

In March, Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal reported that the "chances were increasing" the Patriots would, in fact, trade Gronkowski.

Through two games this season, Gronkowski has nine catches for 138 yards and a touchdown.

Gordon did go through what seemed to be a considerable workout during the pregame festivities at Ford Field, though, working with both inactive talents and his share of Patriot regulars.

Josh Gordon's New England Patriots debut is going to have to wait at least a week.
