Red Dead Online Will Launch in November First as a Public Beta

The online portion uses the gameplay Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, and will receive "constant updates" and "adjustments" over the course of its lifetime.

Rockstar announced Wednesday, September 19, that Red Dead Redemption 2's online mode would enter open beta in November after the game is released October 26.

The Red Dead Online public beta will take place after the game's official launch, which should give players plenty of opportunity to explore offline before jumping into the multiplayer universe. Specifically, the studio says it expects turbulence at launch, and to work with the community to overcome "teething problems" and develop Red Dead Online over time.

In a new interview with IGN though Rockstar do compare it more closely to GTA Online: 'We've tried to take the best elements and best content packs from Grand Theft Auto Online and use them for templates for what we are making here'.
