On Friday, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau announced that OnePlus TV would possibly well be the firm's next most significant challenge.

With the OnePlus TV, Lau hopes to introduce a product that will "seamlessly connect the home".

OnePlus today announced that it will launch its first smart TV called the OnePlus TV. This would allow the TV to showcase details such as calendar events, suggestions, and even booking a cap to and fro destination.

One of the OnePlus staff members also mentioned the OnePlus TV would improve our Digital Wellbeing.

The "OnePlus TV" could launch as early as next year, and Lau says the company is intent on nailing on all fronts - aesthetics, image quality and audio performance.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is still days away from its official release, however, it seems like a seller on ... When grilled about how it plans to quell the obvious privacy concerns, Lau states that the company does have it in mind and "will have a solution" by the time the product reaches shelves, although it remains to be seen what OnePlus has in store.

The positives, negatives, their qualities and weaknesses. "I wouldn't change the players for any others". We will try to reduce the impact and give the players what they need and hopefully it will work well.

OnePlus doesn't make TV panels and it doesn't make TVs, but it does have an eye for design. In the process, our team and community have learned a tremendous amount about software, hardware, design, product development, and delivering on the best possible user experience. To be specific, OnePlus is aiming for a 2019 launch for its TV, which will be a 4K LED model with built-in connectivity.

This new product will bring the functionality or a virtual assistant like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, and combine it with entertainment features that smart displays and smart speakers have, among others.

What the OnePlus TV ultimately entails could be dependent on user feedback. The top 10 finalists of the contest will get a pair of OnePlus Bullets earphones. "When I get up in the morning, the agenda will pop up in the TV with the local time, weather, temperature, my hotel information, and recommendations for how to dress", quotes PC Mag, suggesting a shift from a smartphone AI experience to one on the big screen.

According to a recent report by IHS Markit, the global unit-share of smart TVs rose from 45 percent of overall TV shipments in 2015 to 64 percent in 2017.

With OnePlus now emerging as a challenger in the TV industry, TV giants like Sony and Samsung could face some serious competition.
