Having been overlooked for the vacant Arsenal position before the season, Mikel Arteta will get the chance to stand in for Pep Guardiola in Manchester City's Champions League opener.

Guardiola did not seem overly concerned about either player after the Fulham victory, and he has been expected to rotate his team anyway as he looks to navigate City's fixture list. "I'm privileged to be where I am in football right now", Arteta added.

The 36-year-old, who spent five seasons as a player at the Emirates, was a leading candidate to replace Arsene Wenger last summer, before the Gunners eventually settled on Unai Emery. "That will continue always".

He stated that Real Madrid are still favourite to win this season's Champions League trophy despite losing their all-time highest goalscorer, Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in the summer.

"It has to be Real Madrid". "They deal with every detail better than everyone else". They are the main favourites. "The rest have to catch up". And I don't think today is the day to talk about it. The difference between the teams is not that big.
