Gareth Southgate believes Marcus Rashford can be England's Cristiano Ronaldo

Marcus Rashford has no plans to leave Manchester United and is willing to fight for a regular role as a striker under Jose Mourinho, according to reports.

Manchester United have endured something of a mixed start to the new Premier League campaign, with Jose Mourinho's men having lost two and won two of their opening four games.

This is in stark contrast to his club form, as the 20-year-old hasn't scored for Manchester United this season.

He even claimed that while Ronaldo was doing "step-overs" for Man United when he was the same age, Rashford is already delivering end-product with goals for both club and country.

Three Lions striker Marcus Rashford seems to have hit some form in the past week, finding the back of the net against Spain and Switzerland and taking his global goals tally to five. We have to remember that Harry, at that age, had hardly played anywhere near the same number of matches for Spurs. Subscribe to our SMS sports service by texting "SPORTS" to 22840.

"He (Rashford) has still played a lot of football, although maybe not the continuous starts, and I'm really pleased for him that he leaves England full of confidence". There is huge competition for places at his club so you can understand that. "For me, I was delighted because we really wanted to make him feel important over this period anyway".

And Hazard believes that Lukaku's two goals for Belgium on Tuesday night will be good for his confidence as the striker prepares to return to his club.

"They have a hard job to do and they have big squads at the top six, with huge competition for places. He's a huge admirer of him, but he's got his job to do".

Rashford will have just a year left in his contract and former England defender Jamie Carragher has told him to quit rather than start from the bench.

However, he has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford and will be suspended for United's next three domestic games after being sent off at Burnley before the worldwide break. He looks like one of the best strikers in the world. Last season, he played poorly against Brighton, Mourinho had a pop at him and Lukaku went straight back in the next game.
