Author of ‘How to Murder Your Husband’ Charged With Murdering Her Husband

On September 5, police arrested his 68-year-old wife Nancy on the charge of his murder.

Crampton-Brophy - who has published novels entitled "The Wrong Husband" and "The Wrong Lover" - was booked into Multnomah County Detention Center accused of murder and unlawful use of a firearm, according to Oregon Live.

Nancy Crampton Brophy, 68, was arrested last week for the June 2 murder of Daniel Brophy.

In a twist of irony so devious it would have turned Agatha Christie green with envy, the accused killer penned How to Murder Your Husband several years before allegedly bumping off her own hubby.

A 68-year-old romance author in OR who once wrote a novel called "The Wrong Husband" was arrested last week. because she's accused of KILLING her husband back in June.

Students were just beginning to file into the building for class when they found him bleeding in the kitchen, and police received no description of any suspect.

At a vigil outside the culinary school where Daniel taught, Crampton-Brophy had mourned her husband, saying, "Daniel was one of the few people I've ever known who did exactly what he wanted in life and loved doing it".

"Divorce is expensive, and do you really want to split your possessions?", she wrote. "For those of you who are close to me and feel this deserved a phone call, you are right, but I'm struggling to make sense of this right now".

In 2012, Crompton-Brophy said in an interview that "murder, mayhem and gore seem to come naturally to me which means my husband has learned to sleep with one eye open". McConnell recalled, and she responded, "No, I'm a suspect".

Crampton-Brophy, whose other books include, The Wrong Husband and Hell on The Heart, wrote an essay in 2011 about killing.

While Crampton Brophy was arraigned in court last week, authorities haven't released details about her alleged role in her husband's death. She wrote she would not want to "worry about blood and brains splattered on the wall", or "remembering lies". "We did not, I should note, rule out a tragic drive-by shooting or a suspicious accident".
