Elon Musk And Joe Rogan Smoke Marijuana During Live Podcast Interview

Musk has come under heavy pressure in recent weeks over his botched attempt to take Tesla private and his erratic behavior.

Speaking of the what lies ahead, Musk said being forever constrained to Earth would not be a good future.

The spot on one of the most popular podcasts in the US marks Musk's first appearance in a public forum since he stunned the financial world last month with his short-lived effort to take Tesla private.

The San Francisco office of the Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating not only Musk's unusual tweet about having "funding secured" to take the auto company private, but broader issues surrounding company disclosures about production goals with its latest offering, the Model 3.

If Elon's relaxed attitude is a short-term positive, it is at least balanced out by the departure of chief accounting officer Dave Morton as a potential long-term negative.

The company disclosed the departure in a regulatory filing.

A Tesla spokesperson wasn't immediately available to comment.

Shares of Tesla dropped 8.2 per cent in pre-market trading, to $258.40.

Musk has been picking other fights, deriding the media and, during a May conference call to discuss first-quarter earnings, cutting off several analysts, dismissing their questions as "boring".
