NVIDIA Debuts $1,200 GeForce RTX GPUs Made for Gamers

The new GPUs, based on an architecture codenamed Turing, merge conventional graphics rasterisation, real-time ray tracing, AI, and compute power for the first time.

Turing is NVIDIA's brand new, eight-generation architecture that succeeds Pascal. It brings with it new RT Cores that replace the previous CUDA for ray tracing applications and also includes new Tensor Cores for AI.

However with RTX, Nvidia is making the ability to calculate calculate these complicated scenes way faster, and even quick enough for ray tracing to be used in real-time - such as in another recent teaser demo. Lights interact and blend with each other in real time in a highly realistic fashion, and shadows are cast in a more natural way, with shadows appearing smoother when ray tracing is enabled. It takes into account things such as light scattering, shadows, and even the type of surface each photon bounced off before reaching your viewpoint in the game. To make the process a bit simpler, the light is sent backwards from the camera to the light source, as it reduces some of the computational load. Let's have a look at them. It's not exactly photorealistic, but it's a significant improvement over current rendering techniques. That may be overstating things a bit - especially given that Nvidia's own USA website jumped the gun by posting photos, specs and pricing details before the official announcement.

Artificial intelligence is helping to crack the challenge of creating lifelike light and shadow effects in games. All of this pieces are according to the website listing and the cards can be pre-ordered directly from NVIDIA over on the website. The GeForce RTX 2070 Founders Edition will be priced at $599 USD, followed by the RTX 2080 Founders Edition at $799 USD, and the RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition retailing for $1,199 USD. Yup, NVIDIA is going to offer their reference cards with a factory overclock, that means that the founder edition cards are shipping with binned dies that allow for the best clocks and overclocking potential.

Twitch Prime ends ad-free viewing, Amazon Prime preorder discount reduced
First, the 20 percent discount usually represented a $12 savings, and this is only a $10 savings. Once you get that credit, you can use it on nearly anything that Amazon sells, not just games.

Barcelona Police SHOOT DEAD Algerian Knifeman shouting 'Allahu Akbar — TERROR IN SPAIN
After they chose to let him in, he pulled out "a large knife" and lunged at officers in what allegedly was a premeditated attack. The suspect is believed to have lived near the station, which is in the Cornella district on the outskirts of the city.

Nvidia's 20-series GPUs will run you $899 for the GeForce RTX 2070, $1199 for the RTX 2080, and a whopping $1899 for the RTX 2080 Ti, with pre-orders for the RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti available on the Nvidia website today.

Battlefield V open beta September 6. Second quarter revenues for several of its other business segments, including PC gaming, data centers and automotive, all beat estimates.

GeForce RTX GPUs also support Deep Learning Super-Sampling (DLSS), a technology that applies deep learning and AI to rendering techniques, resulting in crisp, smooth edges on rendered objects in games.
