Total Fire Ban...And It's Still Winter!

The NSW Rural Fire Service has completed the first stage of property assessments following the fire, which has burnt through more than 3,300 hectares and is still out of control.

Almost 80 fires continue to burn along the Great Dividing Range from the Queensland border to Victoria, with 32 still uncontained.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services has issued a fire ban through to Monday for parts of south east Queensland.

"The current situation down south is a reminder to all residents across the state that could be affected by bush fires to take the time to discuss with your family what you will all do and where you will go in the event of a bush or grass fire", he said.
