TrendForce therefore expects MacBook shipments to again post a large [quarter over quarter] increase in Q3 2018, as Apple will be releasing a new MacBook Pro at the start of the quarter and a new MacBook Air at the end of the quarter.

New MacBook Airs could launch as soon as the end of Q3 2018, according to a new report out of Taiwan that signals the wait for an affordable new MacBook is almost over.

Apple is widely expected to launch three new iPhones next month but according to a recent report from DigiTimes, that's only the tip of the iceberg. As you know, old entry-level MacBooks and MacBook Air models costed $999 and $799, respectively.

A brand new story says the cheaper MacBook will arrive in September, and that it might not be as cheap as initially expected.

New car found in rubble of collapsed Genoa bridge - authorities

In fact, there isn't a whole lot that this rumor tells us. Apparently Apple originally planned to ship the new MacBook in late 2017 with a 10 nm Kaby Lake processor, but Intel's manufacturing delay into late 2019 forced the company to release the computer now with the 14 nm chip.

DigiTimes also says that the new 13-inch MacBook will feature Intel CPUs built with the company's 14nm Kaby Lake process.

"The 13-inch low-priced MacBook was originally set to be released in the fourth quarter of 2017, but has been delayed due to Intel's issues with its 10nm manufacturing process", reads the report. Apple released a new MacBook Pro line in July, when the third quarter began.

It looks like we'll finally get the promised AirPower wireless charging pad Apple showed off at its iPhone X launch even last September. One model will be a straight update to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, while the other will be an 11-inch tablet to replace the 10.5-inch iPad Pro. There are no plans to update the current iPad mini, the publication notes.
