No more call recording on Android: Google

If you own a Pixel or Pixel XL keep an eye out for an update rolling out in the coming weeks. Assuming you have a compatible phone, charger, and cable, users should see greatly increased charging speeds.

Initially Google said it had made a note of the problem and had "shared" it with the tech giant's "product and engineering teams" who started an investigation.

HMD Global had already revealed its plans to bring Google's latest Android Pie to all Nokia Android-powered smartphones including the entry-level handset, Nokia 1.

While some complaints are from Pixel owners, the vast majority are Pixel XL users. The 18W rapid charger included in-box is a PD charger and does not exhibit this behavior. This includes 2 Google chargers / USB C cables (1 from 6P pack in and 1 from Google Store), 1 battery backup using a Google USB C supplied cable, and a third party charger and cable.

Last week, Google pushed out the newest version of Android called Pie.

Many are concerned about Google's stance on fixing the issue, given that the company closed a case on its tracker under the dreaded "Won't Fix (Infeasible)" status, however support has been active since the problem is reportedly a lot more common than initially anticipated.

Users have reported on Google's Issue Tracker and the XDA Forums (spotted by Android Police) that after upgrading to Android Pie, their devices no longer display that indicator.

The situation has come as a surprise to many developers and users.

Such a feature should improve hardware battery life overall.
