Arsenal host Manchester City at the Emirates tomorrow (Sunday).

Guardiola opted to start Laporte and Stones for the 2-0 Community Shield win over Chelsea last weekend but says players who are left out over the course of the season must put all their effort into being ready for the next match.

Rather than ask his players to eradicate that glory from their minds, as Bill Shankly and Sir Alex Ferguson might have done in order to start again, Guardiola is demanding they remember what made them such sparkling winners.

The Frenchman left the club after 22 years of service earlier in the year, and with his replacement, the Gunners are aiming to bring back the good times.

Arsenal are an unknown quantity going into the new campaign, something which should excite and also intrigue fans.

As well, Danny Welbeck has come in this week but on Sunday it will be early to start playing him.

"He makes it hard for teams to play against them".

2nd Test: Ton-up Woakes more than just Stokes stand
The Indian batsmen have themselves to blame as much as the top-class bowling from the English fast-bowlers led by James Anderson. But Woakes, who had scored nine previous first-class hundreds, and Jonny Bairstow (93) turned the tide during a stand of 189.

Woods was among 77 players who returned early on Saturday to complete the weather-delayed second round. Woods had his mojo back early in the round and was sitting pretty at three-under par before the delay.

Man city is nearly the ideal squad with a mix of experience (Silva, Kompany, Fernandinho) and youngsters such as Gabriel Jesus and lightning-quick Leroy Sane, not to forget the lethal duo of Kevin De Bruyne and Kun Aguero.

Guardiola said: "The target is to win on Sunday and then, after that, (against) Huddersfield and then Wolves".

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey is a doubt for the fixture. I know exactly what we did to achieve that, and that is where we start from.

Defenders Sead Kolasinac and Laurent Koscielny are long-term absentees with respective knee and Achilles injuries.

Bernd Leno is expected to be preferred in goal to Petr Cech, with Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis the centre-back pairing.

Manchester City have launched the 2018/19 away kit!

He adds: "I see Kevin de Bruyne smashing it in terms of the PFA player of the year".

Regarded as a football savant cut from the same cloth as the obsessive Wenger, Emery has impressed Arsenal's players with his detailed video analysis, spending up to 12 hours ahead of each game working on footage for his squad.
