Unhinged: An Insider Account of the Trump White House by Omarosa Manigault-Newman goes on sale on August 14.

The former reality television star reportedly writes that Trump played the comments off as a joke, but she says she believes he was serious, according to the excerpt obtained by Slate.

Little did she know that she would become a likely candidate for that list after losing her position at The White House. USA Today reports that Donald Trump has called his former Director of African American Outreach, a "low life". He responded: "Lowlife. She's a lowlife".

Elsewhere in her book, she claims the president suffers from "mental decline" and alleges she once saw Trump chew up a piece of paper after a meeting with his then-lawyer Michael Cohen.

Manigault Newman claims Trump wanted to use his own business book at the swearing-in ceremony rather than the bible.
