Samsung Delivers Chromebook Plus V2 Premium Chrome OS Convertible With Stowable Pen

Samsung has been on board with Google's Chromebook platform since the first round of retail PCs running the browser-based OS began to ship.

Samsung has now added a 13-Megapixel rear camera alongside the 1-Megapixel front camera that can be used for video calling and other purposes.

Samsung says the Chromebook Plus V2 will hit store shelves on June 24. We shouldn't expect just a rehash of last year's model, however, as Samsung seems to making some fairly significant changes in 2018's device.

The new Chromebook comes loaded with a built-in pen and offers a light and thin design language.

The new Samsung Chromebook Plus will cost $499, $50 more than its predecessor. The V2 will run on an Intel Celeron Processor 3965Y to boost the speed from last year's model, which ran on an ARM processor, according to Samsung's press release. You'll also find a headphone jack, dual speakers, 13MP camera on the back of the keyboard deck and a 1MP selfie camera mounted above the display. The new Chromebook Plus V2 features 16:10 aspect ratio compared to 3:2 in the previous edition. Simply fold your laptop into tablet mode and capture your view from any angle.

The Chromebook Plus (V2) includes a curved cap keyboard that's meant to withstand spills, up to 60cc.

The stylus is battery-free and hence the owner can use it to precisely crop a picture, sign a document, edit an idea or even zoom in small text. Under the hood, the laptop is powered by an Intel Celeron 3865Y processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is expandable up to 400GB via a microSD card. Samsung claims that the Chromebook Plus is capable of offering a battery backup of 8-hours on a single charge.
